Wireless Telephone Line Extender
Sometimes you need to put a telephone, fax, or modem in a building or area that has no telephone line. Northmark Communications offers the CL-2200XP as one possible solution. These 900 MHz radios allow you to plug in a standard telephone line or analog PBX extension into the base station, and place a remote station where you need it. The remote station will work with any standard analog telephone, and most faxes or modems.

One base station can serve up to ten remote stations, sharing one phone line. Up to nine base stations can be used simultaneously, providing up to nine telephone lines to as many as 90 remote sites.

Omni-directional and directional roof-top antennas are available for maximum range. Extreme ranges can be achieved with larger dish-type antennas. Four and eight-port antenna combiners and amplifiers are available to allow multiple base radios to share one roof-top antenna.

Applications:
  • Remote telephones, faxes, modems
  • Remote analog PBX extensions
  • Linking nearby buildings
  • Temporary telephone lines
  • Remote rural sites
  • Emergency relocation

Range Notes: Stable line-of-sight communications are possible in excess of five miles using standard directional gain antennas. High-gain dish-type antennas have been used to achieve ranges up to thirty miles. The range will vary depending on the type and elvation of antennas used, radio and Fresnel-zone interference, terrain, and obstructions.  Keep in mind that at 900 MHz, radio signals behave much like light. The signal will not penetrate or easily bend around hills or other obstructions. Urban areas may suffer from significant radio interference. Antennas should be mounted as high as possible, away from obstructions in the signal path for best performance and longest range.
